The Honest Company (NASDAQ:HNST) shares rose 25% after announcing a Q4 profit and 10% sales gain that surpassed expectations. The business predicts low-to-mid single-digit sales growth in 2024, with the first half being weaker than the second. Positive adjusted EBITDA is expected to be low- to mid-single-digit million. CFO Loretta said, “Our 2024 outlook emphasizes profitable growth and showcases the confidence we have in the long-term strategy and financial future of Honest.”
Top stock losses
Victoria’s Secret (NYSE:VSCO) shares fell 31% after the firm warned of probable quarterly losses due to intimates category issues. The company blamed a hard economic climate for a four-quarter Y/Y loss in the North American intimates market, despite conservative planning and an open-to-buy policy. Victoria’s Secret expects 2024 sales to drop by low single digits to $6B, missing expected $6.18B, and Q1 adjusted earnings to range from a loss of $0.15 to a profit of $0.10 per share, compared to $0.28 in 1Q23, with analysts expecting $0.31. Total Q1 sales are likely to drop by mid-single digits, and adjusted gross margin is predicted to be 36.5% to 37.5%, flat to up 100 basis points from 1Q23.
Apollo Global Management’s secondary public offering (SPO) dropped ADT’s share price by 12%. This sale might generate $371M for Apollo by selling 55M ADT shares at $6.50–$6.75. APO shares fell 3% after this.
Big Lots’ (NYSE:BIG) share fell 40% before its Q4 results report amid analysts’ loss predictions. The consensus EPS prediction is -$0.26, up 7.1% Y/Y. Revenue projections are $1.43B, down 7.1% Y/Y. While analysts haven’t raised their predictions in three months, BIG has outperformed EPS and sales projections 50% and 38% of the time, respectively, in the last two years.
