  • ADP for March Private payrolls are becoming weaker.The number of private payrolls reported by ADP in March was lower than expected (145K vs. 200K), while the preceding month’s figure was revised upward (to 261K from 242K). Yearly pay increased 6.9% from a year earlier, which was a slower rate than the 7.2% rate in the previous month.
  • The U.S. trade deficit in goods and services increased to (-$70.5 billion) in February from (-$68.7 billion) in January and (-$68.7 billion) according to consensus. The deficit in products decreased to (-$92.98 billion) while the surplus in services increased to (+$22.44 billion).
  • ISM Non-Manufacturing data for March was low, coming in at 51.2 vs. an expected 54.5 and a rating of 55.1 in February; prices paid down to 59.5 vs. 65.6 last month, employment decreased to 51.3 from 54.0, and new orders decreased to 52.2 from 62.6 in February.

    • Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced a voluntary retirement programme (VRS) for its employees. It anticipates that this step will increase corporate efficiency.
    • Equitas Small Finance Bank: According to preliminary statistics, the small finance bank increased gross advances by 36% year on year to Rs 28,061 crore in the fiscal quarter ending March FY23, and sequential growth was 13%. Disbursements during the quarter was Rs 5,917 crore, an increase of 80% year on year and 23% quarter on quarter.
    • .Ujjivan Small Finance Bank increased its advances by 33% year on year in Q4FY23 to Rs 24,114 crore, with disbursements exceeding Rs 6,000 crore for the quarter and Rs 20,000 crore for the fiscal year FY23.
    • Tata Steel: India’s production volume climbed by 5.1 percent to 5.15 million tonnes in Q4FY23, while delivery volume increased by 0.6 percent to 5.15 million tonnes. The volume of manufacturing in Europe remained constant.
    • Avenue Supermarts, which owns the DMart retail brand, reported Rs 10,337 crore in standalone sales for the fourth quarter ended March 31.
    • Nykaa, FSN E-Commerce, which owns the famous beauty goods brand Nykaa, saw excellent company growth in the March quarter despite a sluggish market trend. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the corporation anticipates a 30% increase in sales.
    • Cholamandalam Finance and Investment: The company’s fourth-quarter payments were Rs 21,020 crore, up from Rs 12,718 crore in the same time previous year, representing a 65% increase
    • According to ET Today, LIC expects to spend more than 3 lakh crore in FY24, with equity accounting for 30% of the total.
    • Karnataka State Bank As of March 2023, the bank’s total aggregate deposits was at Rs 87,362 crore, a rise of approximately 9%. Over the same period, advances increased by 6% to Rs 61,326 crore.
